Can you just imagine? Nine years of married life has passed away. He, my dearest has passed his seven year itch with flying colours, with hiccups.

Ravin and I have roamed the world from Mexico to Maldives in the Indian Ocean. Of course we dragged our Nilou (6 yrs) too around coping with all kinds of ills, fights and laughing away at funs and jokes having a good time.

Yet, somehow or the other my heart yearned to go out into the world as a free bird for a few days. Away from the mundane drudgery of daily attending to household chores, school complaints and constraints, arguments, and overzealous catty people, listening to Ravin's orchestra, preparing meals with no end in sight.

In the middle of 2005, one day I casually mentioned my inner feelings to my dear friend Suzanna who has two mischievous sons 9 &5. She jumped at the idea and our plans for a holiday on our own began to shape up. It took us almost three years to lay out a firm plan for our vacation. We had to overcome many constraints on the way.

In the end at last we have chose end of September is the best suitable time for everyone at home, and booked our tickets and hotel for three days (four nights away) in Rome.

My dear hubby, Ravin asked me one day with a mournful look, that wrung my heart away, "How do you tie a pony tail?"

Now am wondering what other task has engulfed his mind, something that's almost second nature to me. Three miserable, bloody days. And we had to plan for three whole years.

It is my fervent hope and deepest prayers that my Ravin wouldn't chase me around in Rome, with his calls asking where his small pieces of papers are. In fact those tiny little things do not run away on their own. They are simple docile things. They seem to run about only when the user puts them wherever (he) drops them. In the other hand, Nilou is very happy that she thinks, if momma is out, no need to study at home... papa and she can play without time limit (Humm if the cat is out of the house...) though she will miss me - she says. I will miss her too.

In any case, we are leaving, and there's no second word about it. And once we are back I will share our 'lone' vacation with you ...
